Thomas John Muthoot, a visionary rooted in the values imparted by his father Muthoot Pappachan, has effectively spearheaded the Group over the past twenty five years to become one of India’s leading financial powerhouses. He also paved the way for the diversification of the Group into other major industries like power, hospitality, automotive and more. Its flagship company, Muthoot Fincorp now has a wide network of over 3800 branches pan India. He is also a member of the CII, Kerala Regional Council, Inner Circle Member of INK TALKS and a Harvard Alumni.

Thomas George Muthoot is the quiet strength behind the visionary growth of the Group. Thomas George Muthoot's penchant for technology and efficient administrative skills ensures the Group stays on the cutting edge of development. He holds positions as Director in the various companies of Muthoot Pappachan Group. Under his leadership the Group has made substantial efforts to strengthen and improve customer relationship and established its strong presence in retail finance through a network of 3800 plus branches across the Country and is still going strong. He continues to steer the Group in attaining the pinnacle of success. He has rich hands-on experience and exposure in all facets of non-banking financial services. His un-satiating desire to serve the masses and developing newer financial products has enabled him to pioneer the concept of Micro–finance within the Group, which will go a long way in serving the masses. He is also the Chairman, Association of Non-Banking Finance Companies Kerala, Committee member of Finance Companies Association, Chennai and Secretary, Association of Gold Loan Companies.

Thomas Muthoot


Thomas Muthoot is an expert in Micro credit and Micro saving business with a great desire to serve the masses. He is innovative with need based financial products. His knowledge of emerging markets and their functions have been harnessed in structuring the business interests of the group.
Thomas Muthoot is also the Vice President of Ernakulam District Cricket Association and Managing Committee member of Kerala Cancer Care Society.



Mr Thomas Muthoot John is the next generation representative of Muthoot Pappachan Group’s 130 years of business legacy. He is a graduate in economics and has completed Non-credit course from University of Maryland on Developing Innovative ideas for Entrepreneurs. He has acquired remarkable managerial experience in risk advisory from KPMG and Muthoot Fincorp Ltd.  He has spearheaded mission-critical firm-wide projects and provided analytical support for Muthoot Pappachan Group’s partnership in multiple fintech start-ups.

Kenneth Dan Vander Weele


Vander Weele is the co-founder of Creation Investments and serves as the Chief Investment Officer. He is a founding board member Creation Investments Social Ventures Fund I and was instrumental in the establishment of Creation Investments’ model and pipeline. Prior to Creation Investments, Mr. Vander Weele was the President of the Investment Services Division at Opportunity International, a global microfinance network. In this role, Mr. Vander Weele was responsible for the development and oversight of all commercial MFIs institutions within the network, garnering over $1 billion in assets over his tenure. From 2000 to 2008, he was in charge of investment banking services to procure debt and equity capital to finance development and growth of commercial microfinance institutions, overseeing feasibility studies, research, due diligence and financing of MFIs in emerging markets.

Vander Weele received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and a Ph.D. from the Open University of the U.K. under the sponsorship of the Oxford Center for Mission Studies and Oxford University. He has also completed coursework from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Alok Prasad

Independent Director

Alok Prasad, is a veteran banker and the founder CEO of Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), India (2010-2015). He has held senior positions across institutions ranging from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to Citibank. Seamlessly straddling the government/regulatory world with that of the private sector, he successfully steered the microfinance industry through its crisis phase. The subsequent mainstreaming of MFIs and their integration into the national financial architecture has been an outcome of the advocacy work done by MFIN, under his leadership. Passionate about financial inclusion and regulatory issues, Mr. Prasad has worked closely with the RBI, the Government and the Microfinance industry for development of an appropriate policy framework for promoting access to finance in India.

Mr. Prasad is credited with making MFIN the first RBI recognised Self-regulatory organisation (SRO) in the financial sector. He also served as the Chairperson of the South Asian Microfinance Network (SAMN) for the period 2013-15. Regarded as an expert and ‘go to’ person for financial inclusion related issues, Mr. Prasad is currently connected with a number of Banks/Financial institutions, in an advisory capacity.
